URGENT requirement - Interim Finance Manager - Cambridge

I am looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join my client on a temporary basis, starting ASAP to provide critical support during a period of absence within the team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on finance professional who enjoys variety and autonomy, with exposure across the full finance function.

You'll take ownership of day-to-day financial operations and support month-end processes, including:

  • Overseeing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions
  • Preparing monthly management accounts and variance analysis
  • Supporting annual budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Liaising with auditors and preparing for the year-end audit
  • Providing financial insight and reports to senior leadership


We're looking for a confident, self-sufficient finance professional who can hit the ground running:

  • Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) or QBE
  • Strong experience in management accounts, budgeting, and audit prep
  • Comfortable overseeing transactional finance in a small team environment
  • Excellent attention to detail, with strong Excel and reporting skills
  • Experience in education or not-for-profit sectors is a plus (not essential)


Salary: £50,000 per annum (pro rata)
Duration: Initially 3 months, with potential to extend
Location: Cambridge - beautiful historic setting
