Overview of the role: An outstanding and very reputable client of ours are looking for an interim Treasury Manager to pay full focus to projects, as well as operations. This is a hands-on role that sits at the heart of a large, complex organisation managing a multi-billion-pound debt portfolio and significant daily cash flows. You will sit at the centre of treasury change, leading major systems and transformation projects while keeping a close grip on risk, controls and compliance. If you enjoy solving problems, driving improvement and being the go-to person for treasury projects and operations, this role offers real variety and visibility. This role will suit someone who has previous experience within a large corporate environment and it can be based in either Cambridge or London, offering generous hybrid working. This role is offering up to £80,000 on a 12m FTC basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Take the lead on high-profile treasury projects, including ERP upgrades and payment system replacements, acting as the treasury subject matter expert from design through go-live.
- Shape and enhance the Treasury Management System and related tools to improve controls, reporting quality and operational efficiency.
- Own the scoping and evaluation of a new Treasury Management System, working with procurement, governance committees and external consultants.
- Manage core banking relationships, ensuring smooth operational delivery, appropriate limits and effective issue resolution.
- Oversee treasury activity supporting commercial operations, ensuring all trades are executed in line with policy and covenant requirements.
- Provide operational cover across debt, derivatives and treasury operations to ensure continuity and strong first-time controls.
- Own treasury contingency and disaster recovery planning, including regular testing and readiness.
Skills & Experience Required
- Qualified accountant and/or ACT qualified (minimum Associate level), with solid post-qualification treasury experience.
- Strong understanding of treasury risk, debt management and banking relationships within a complex environment.
- Deep knowledge of Treasury Management Systems and payment platforms.
- Proven experience delivering treasury or finance system projects.
- Confident problem solver who can challenge constructively and make sound decisions.
- Clear, credible communicator comfortable working across finance, commercial teams and external partners.
