Financial Analyst

We are currently recruiting for a Financial Analyst to join an established organisation in Darlington on a temporary basis until January 2027.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a solid finance background who enjoys working with financial data, reporting and analysis. You'll support the wider finance team with month-end activities, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting.

As Financial Analyst, your responsibilities will include:

• Completing month-end activities to support the production of monthly financial statements
• Preparing detailed financial analysis and reports for management
• Producing financial performance reporting and providing clear explanations of key variances
• Supporting the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts
• Assisting with expense and staffing forecasts
• Preparing statistical and management reporting
• Undertaking cost and variance analysis
• Working with different areas of the organisation to gather, review and analyse financial information
• Ensuring financial information is accurate, timely and clearly presented

We're looking for someone who has:

• A degree or equivalent qualification in Finance, Accounting or a related field
• Relevant professional experience within finance, accounting or financial analysis
• Practical experience of month-end processes
• Experience of budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and variance analysis
• Strong analytical skills and confidence working with complex financial data
• Good Excel skills
• The ability to work accurately, prioritise workload and meet deadlines
• Strong communication skills and confidence working with stakeholders across the business
• Progress towards a professional accounting qualification such as CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent would be advantageous
