The ONE Group are recruiting for a Qualified or Part-Qualified Accountant to join the Power Systems division of a well-established business in Daventry on a temporary basis.
This is a broad and varied position covering lease accounting, payroll, corporate reporting, balance sheet reviews and month-end activity across two UK sites. You will be joining a busy finance team, so we are looking for someone who can get up to speed quickly, work confidently with financial data and take ownership of their responsibilities.
The role offers hybrid working, with three days based onsite in Daventry and two days working remotely each week.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining accurate lease accounting records and supporting quarterly audits
- Completing payroll journals, reconciliations and reporting
- Producing monthly and quarterly corporate reports
- Preparing the PAYE Settlement Agreement return
- Analysing and reporting monthly Profit in Inventory variances
- Managing the close-the-books process for the Kent site, including preparation and submission of review files
- Preparing and presenting balance sheet reviews during month-end meetings
- Preparing the annual tax packs for the Daventry and Kent sites
- Investigating financial variances and providing clear, useful insight to stakeholders
- Reviewing and strengthening financial controls, including developing appropriate remediation plans
- Keeping up to date with relevant tax, banking, pension and accounting regulations
What we are looking for:
- Qualified or Part-Qualified Accountant, or degree-level qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related subject
- Strong Excel skills
- Good understanding of month-end accounting, reconciliations and financial reporting
- Confident analysing data, identifying trends and investigating variances
- Able to explain financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders
- A thorough and organised approach, with good attention to detail
- Experience of Oracle, Power BI or Power Query would be useful but is not essential
The assignment is currently confirmed until 24 December 2026. There may be the possibility of an extension, although this cannot be guaranteed at this stage.
