I am delighted to be partnering exclusively with a niche organisation based in Cambridge to recruit a Qualified Accountant to join their growing business on a temporary-to-permanent basis. This is a newly created role offering the opportunity to become an integral part of the Finance & Operations team, taking ownership of day-to-day financial operations and contributing to the continued growth of the organisation. This position offers fully remote working; however, candidates must be able to commit to attending the Cambridge office for company-wide meetings 1-2 days per month.

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Monitoring incoming payments and accurately allocating them to the appropriate accounts
  • Taking ownership of the bank accounts and ensuring accurate reconciliations on a daily basis
  • Preparing VAT returns
  • Calculating, preparing, and posting journal entries
  • Performing balance sheet reconciliations
  • Managing direct debit collections
  • Producing financial reports and analysis for internal and external stakeholders
  • Supporting audit preparation, including compiling and providing data for auditors
  • Working closely with the sales, operational and credit teams

Person specification:

  • Fully qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA)
  • Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workload effectively
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across departments
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of key finance processes
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies efficiently
