Are you an experienced Verification and Validation engineer looking to work on cutting edge real time embedded systems? This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly technical software team working across a broad range of advanced engineering projects. You will help qualify components for some of the most sophisticated systems in the world, collaborating with dedicated multidisciplinary teams in a hands on environment. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys problem solving, testing complex technology and ensuring the highest levels of software quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate software and system requirements into well structured test cases and procedures
  • Prepare, execute and document tests for real time embedded software components
  • Capture data, analyse results and provide clear, actionable feedback to project teams
  • Work in a lab environment on electro mechanical systems running embedded software
  • Support the full software engineering lifecycle from requirements through to qualification
  • Apply strong practical engineering skills to diagnose issues and validate system behaviour

Skills and Experience

  • Strong experience in Verification and Validation activities for embedded software
  • Ability to derive robust test cases from technical requirements
  • Hands on experience testing embedded systems in a lab environment
  • Good understanding of the full software engineering lifecycle
  • Scripting skills for automation or data handling
  • Experience working on safety critical systems
  • Knowledge of standards such as DefStan 0055, DO178C or DO330
  • Embedded software development experience in Ada or C or C++
  • Knowledge of real time operating systems
  • Familiarity with test automation tools and methods
  • Experience using DOORS, EWM, Rapita Suite, Rhapsody or LDRA
  • Breakpoint analysis or focused code review experience
