We’re supporting a well-established UK organisation with a multi-site footprint to appoint a senior IT Manager responsible for ownership of IT across the group. This is a broad leadership role sitting just under executive level, accountable for both the strategic direction and operational delivery of IT, infrastructure, and systems. You’ll lead a small internal IT team and act as the key point of accountability for IT across the business.

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Real ownership of IT across a full multi-site operation
  • Direct access to executive leadership and decision-making
  • A live transformation agenda — not a maintenance role
  • A genuine mix of strategy, influence, and operational involvement
  • Visible impact across systems, data, and business performance
  • Opportunity to shape how IT evolves over the next 3–5 years

What You’ll Likely Bring

  • Experience in IT leadership roles (IT Manager / Head of IT level)
  • Strong infrastructure and operational IT background
  • Comfortable balancing strategy with hands-on delivery
  • Experience in multi-site operational environments (desirable)
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing capability
  • Ability to translate IT strategy into real-world delivery
  • Budget and vendor management experience
  • ERP exposure helpful, not essential
  • A leadership style that combines credibility, calm influence, and pragmatism

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead IT across a multi-site UK organisation
  • Own and deliver the IT and digital strategy roadmap
  • Manage and develop a small IT team
  • Oversee infrastructure, service delivery, and operational IT
  • Act as escalation point for key technical issues where required
  • Work closely with senior leadership on budgeting and investment planning
  • Drive improvements in data, reporting, and system integration
  • Support ongoing transformation across core business systems (including ERP environments)
  • Influence and gain buy-in across operational and leadership stakeholders
  • Contribute to wider automation and digital improvement initiatives

Is this the kind of move you’re looking for? If you’re currently in a senior IT leadership role where you’re still close to the detail, still solving real problems, and still influencing direction but you’re starting to feel like you want more ownership, more visibility, and more say in how IT is shaping the wider business, this could be a strong next step. This role suits someone who enjoys being both strategic and operational, not removed from delivery, but close enough to it that you can genuinely influence outcomes. You’ll be joining a business where IT is already part of the senior conversation, not an afterthought, and where you’ll have direct access to the executive team to shape priorities, investment, and a long-term digital roadmap. At the same time, this isn’t a “boardroom-only” role you’ll still be close enough to the infrastructure, systems, and team to understand what’s really happening day-to-day and step in where needed. If you like environments where you can see the impact of your decisions quickly, influence change across a wider business, and lead both people and technology, this will likely feel like a natural fit.

Interested? If you’re looking for a senior IT leadership role where you can genuinely influence direction, shape change, and stay close enough to the detail to see real impact, this is worth a conversation.
