Senior Environmental Test Engineer
Location: Middlesex
Salary: ÂŁ50,000 – ÂŁ55,000
Hours: Monday to Friday, 35-hour week (early Friday finish)

Role Overview
As a Senior Environmental Test Engineer, you’ll play a hands-on role in planning, designing, and executing a range of rigorous tests to validate that materials meet both design and customer specifications. You’ll oversee the entire test process, from planning through to post-test analysis and reporting, using your expertise in testing programs and military/civilian standards.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead various tests, including Ballistic Signal Transmission Testing (BSTS), Vibration & Shock response (SRS), Mechanical Shock, and Environmental Testing.
- Conduct testing for temperature shock, humidity, altitude, static load, drop testing, and more.
- Perform detailed analysis and compile thorough reports on test outcomes.
- Delegate tasks within small project teams, contributing to an efficient and collaborative testing environment.
Ideal Candidate Profile
We’re looking for someone with extensive hands-on experience in similar testing procedures, particularly in managing tests through to completion, with a strong capability in reporting and analysis. Prior experience in small, collaborative project teams with a focus on task delegation (rather than management) will be an advantage.
Testing Experience Desired
- Ballistic Signal Transmission Testing (BSTS)
- Vibration & Shock response Spectrum (SRS) and mechanical shock testing
- Static load, climatic, and temperature shock testing
- Environmental and pyrotechnic/explosive testing
- Instron Machine, salt fog, and SO2 testing
- Knowledge of Military and Civilian Test Standards
Team Structure & Working Environment
- Work within a 5-member team with close collaboration among Environmental Test and Electro-Mechanical teams.
- Hybrid work arrangement (2 days remote, office attendance as required by testing needs).
