A world-leading high-performance engine manufacturer is seeking a Metrology Engineer / CMM Programmer to support a major measurement-system transition within their advanced machining and piston manufacturing facility. If you enjoy problem-solving, precision, and playing a key role in product accuracy and compliance, this is a strong opportunity to make an impact.
Responsibilities
- Develop, write and prove out CMM measurement programmes, supporting the transfer of existing Mitutoyo programmes into Zeiss Calypso systems.
- Support production and new product introduction activities by resolving metrology and measurement challenges across prismatic parts, cams and cranks.
- Lead metrology investigations, provide dimensional reporting (FAIR/ISIR), and drive corrective actions that improve accuracy and compliance.
- Mentor and guide colleagues in metrology best practice while ensuring safe, compliant working in line with company quality standards.
Qualifications
- Strong experience with Mitutoyo CMM (MCOSMOS) and a solid grounding in GD&T, engineering drawings and first-principles measurement.
- Exposure to Zeiss Calypso, or willingness to undertake training to support a major software migration.
- Solid understanding of surface texture, profile measurement and wider metrology tools (e.g., Mahr, micrometers, gauges).
- Knowledge of AS9100 / ISO9001, plus experience producing FAIR/ISIR reports, capability studies and Gauge R&R (MSA).
