- Multi Skilled Engineer to join a busy and highly automated manufacturing site in
- Peterborough , working on a
Panama night shift pattern .
This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll be responsible for keeping production running, getting to the bottom of faults and making sure equipment is reliable, safe and ready to go.
Day to day role
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
- Responding to breakdowns and diagnosing faults quickly
- Electrical and mechanical fault finding
- Working with motors, sensors, drives, control systems and other automated equipment
- Repairing and maintaining production machinery
- Supporting equipment installations and improvements
- Identifying recurring problems and finding ways to improve reliability
- Working closely with production teams to minimise downtime
- Completing maintenance records and following engineering procedures
- Working safely and maintaining high engineering standards
Ideally, you’ll have
- A recognised engineering qualification, apprenticeship or equivalent experience
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault‑finding skills
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or automated production environment
- Good mechanical engineering knowledge
- A practical, hands‑on approach to problem solving
- The confidence to work independently during the night shift
- A proactive attitude – someone who looks for the cause of a problem, not just a quick fix
- Good communication skills and a team‑focused approach
