Role: Front End Software Engineer – TypeScript
Salary: up to £70,000
Location: Cambridge, UK (Hybrid, 1-2 days in office)
Role Style & Setup
You’ll join a collaborative software development team, working with UX designers, back-end engineers, and product stakeholders to deliver high-performance, accessible, and responsive user interfaces. You’ll contribute to building robust, cloud-hosted applications in a regulated industry environment, following best practices and modern development workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain responsive and accessible UI using TypeScript and React.
- Build and integrate front-end components with REST APIs.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
- Collaborate with designers to implement wireframes and prototypes.
- Apply UX principles to enhance usability and user experience.
- Develop and maintain reusable UI components.
- Implement front-end testing frameworks and end-to-end testing with tools such as Playwright.
- Use CI/CD pipelines (GitLab preferred) to automate testing, builds, and deployments.
- Work with frameworks such as Next.js and/or Vite.
- Deploy applications to AWS cloud environments, leveraging Docker.
- Ensure compliance with accessibility, usability, and regulatory standards.
Skills & Experience Required
- 3+ years’ software development experience.
- Strong proficiency in React and TypeScript.
- Experience building and testing REST API integrations.
- Knowledge of CI/CD workflows (GitLab preferred).
- Familiarity with front-end testing frameworks.
- Agile team experience.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Next.js and/or Vite experience.
- End-to-end testing (Playwright).
- Linux-based development.
- AWS cloud services and Docker.
- Experience in regulated industries, especially medtech.
Working Model
