As Financial Controller, you will oversee all financial activities, working closely with the Group Finance Director to maintain strong financial management and drive operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Manage cash flow, optimise collections, and oversee payments.
- Handle PAYE, VAT filings, plastic tax, and HMRC compliance.
- Ensure smooth payroll processing in collaboration with HR and external providers.
- Oversee creditor payments, bank accounts, insurance, and leases.
- Manage standard cost calculations and analyse manufacturing variances.
- Provide financial insights to support key business decisions, including weekly sales forecasting, commercial business cases, and stock optimisation.
- Ensure adherence to UK GAAP, IFRS, and company policies.
- Lead the audit process and liaise with external auditors.
- Lead and develop the local finance team.
- Act as the Finance Key User for the company’s ERP system, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to senior management.
- Collaborate with other department heads to improve processes and cost efficiencies.
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with strong financial management experience.
- Manufacturing sector experience – at least 3 years in a similar role.
- Deep knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, and financial regulations.
- Advanced Excel and ERP systems proficiency.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven team leadership and stakeholder management experience.
