HR Advisor (Temporary Contract)
Location: Maldon, Essex (Hybrid β 2 days per week on site)
Contract: Temporary β 2 months maybe longer
Hours: Full time
Rate: Β£23-25 per hour
I am supporting an established organisation in Maldon, Essex who are looking for an experienced HR Advisor to provide short-term support during a particularly busy period. This is an excellent opportunity to join a small, collaborative HR team and make an immediate impact.
The Role
You will act as a trusted HR partner, delivering high-quality, practical advice across a broad range of HR activity. The role will involve hands-on employee relations work alongside support for wider organisational initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing first-line and complex HR advice on employee relations matters, including disciplinaries, grievances, conduct, and absence management
- Ensuring consistent application of HR policies and procedures, promoting fairness and best practice
- Building strong working relationships with managers and stakeholders at all levels
- Supporting recruitment and selection processes, advising managers to ensure compliance with required standards
- Maintaining accurate HR records and confidently using HR data and systems
- Contributing to organisational change and change management activity
- Supporting safeguarding requirements, including DBS processes (desirable)
- Assisting with HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance systems, processes, and employee experience
About You
You will be an experienced HR professional who is confident, pragmatic, and comfortable managing a varied workload in a fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Able to start assignment within 1-2 weeks
- CIPD Level 5 qualification (or working towards)
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
- Proven experience managing complex employee relations casework
- Confidence working in a hybrid environment with regular on-site presence
