As Finance Manager you will lead a centralised management accounts team. This is a key leadership role, responsible for delivering high-quality management reporting, strong financial controls and excellent internal customer service across the business.
You should be a Qualified Accountant with insurance experience, a strong management accounting background and proven people-management capability.
The Role:
- Lead a team of management accountants and take ownership of the consistency, quality and timeliness of management accounts and related reporting.
- Line management of a team of Management Accountants, including workload planning, mentoring and performance management.
- Oversight of the monthly management accounts for multiple profit centres.
- Ensuring all balance sheet reconciliations are completed with full supporting schedules.
- Monthly reconciliation of payroll postings to the general ledger.
- Supporting the annual budget and quarterly forecasting processes.
- Assisting with the preparation of statutory accounts and the year-end audit.
- Overseeing the timely production of FCA regulatory returns.
- Review of client money calculations and related controls.
- Supporting accounting work linked to legal entity rationalisation.
- Working closely with the Financial Controller, Finance Business Partners and Group Finance to drive change, efficiency and modernisation.
- Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and maintaining a “no-surprises” approach to financial reporting.
About You:
- Previous experience within the insurance industry.
- Strong background in management accounting and financial control.
- Proven people management and leadership experience.
- Ability to communicate clearly, manage deadlines and motivate a team to deliver high-quality outputs.
