We’re supporting a high-growth, venture-backed deep-tech scale-up based in central Cambridge, operating at the cutting edge of advanced computing and engineering. With a multi-year runway, the business is entering its next phase of sustainable, internationally-focused growth. They are now looking to appoint a Lead / Manager-level Talent Acquisition professional to strengthen and mature their TA function, while remaining hands-on in delivery. This is a people-first leadership role, ideal for a calm, consultative recruiter who enjoys partnering closely with highly technical stakeholders and supporting a small TA team through complexity and change.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Acting as a hands-on Talent Acquisition Lead, managing end-to-end hiring across highly technical and niche roles
  • Providing line management, coaching, and support to an existing TA Partner (with scope to grow the team)
  • Partnering closely with senior leaders to advise on role scoping, hiring priorities, and realistic timelines
  • Supporting hiring across the UK, US and Europe
  • Building credibility with deeply technical stakeholders across software, hardware, and scientific disciplines
  • Improving hiring cadence, prioritisation and pipeline visibility without over-engineering processes

What they’re looking for:

  • Proven experience with specialist, technical candidate markets (deep tech, engineering, semiconductor, scientific or adjacent fields)
  • Comfortable remaining hands-on in delivery while managing and supporting others
  • Confident stakeholder partner – able to listen, challenge constructively and mediate competing priorities
  • Calm, ego-free and adaptable – comfortable with ambiguity and evolving plans
  • Exposure to international hiring, particularly the US, is highly desirable
