Are you looking for a brand new opportunity as an experienced Electronics Engineer where you can really shape what the future of the role looks like? This role sits within a newly formed NPI team, focused on taking electronics from development into scalable, repeatable manufacturing. It is about ensuring designs are not just functional, but buildable, testable and reliable in the real world.

You will take ownership of PCB design across the lifecycle, from schematic through to layout and release, working closely with R&D, manufacturing and quality to ensure designs are right first time and suitable for manufacture. The products are small, compact and precision-led, so an understanding of real-world constraints is key. You will need to balance performance with practicality and understand how design decisions impact build, test and production.

Testing is a key part of the role. You will define test strategies, improve coverage and support the development of automated test equipment to ensure products are fully validated before production. This is a hands-on position. You will support builds, troubleshoot issues, work with PCB manufacturers, and drive improvements in manufacturability, test efficiency and overall production readiness. You will also contribute to improving existing electronics and test processes.

What you will be doing:

  • Designing PCBs across the lifecycle, including schematic capture and layout
  • Ensuring designs are suitable for manufacture, assembly and test (DFM, DFA, DFT)
  • Using DFMEA to identify and mitigate electronic design risks early
  • Supporting products through NPI into scalable, repeatable production
  • Working closely with PCB manufacturers to understand capabilities and constraints
  • Defining test strategies and ensuring strong test coverage for electronic assemblies
  • Supporting the development of automated test equipment for validation and calibration
  • Defining and documenting production test methods, instructions and workflows
  • Supporting builds, troubleshooting issues and resolving electrical, configuration and test problems
  • Supporting non-conformance investigations and contributing to product quality improvements
  • Creating technical documentation and working within controlled change management processes (ECN)
  • Driving improvements in manufacturability, test efficiency and overall production readiness

What we are looking for:

  • Degree in Electronic Engineering or a related discipline
  • Strong experience in PCB and circuit design, including schematic capture and layout
  • Proven experience using Altium Designer (within the last 5 years)
  • Strong understanding of DFM, DFA and DFT principles
  • Experience supporting products from development into manufacturing within an NPI or NPD environment
  • Strong understanding of PCB assembly, integration and production test methods
  • Experience defining or supporting test strategies and electronic test processes
  • Experience creating technical documentation and working within change control environments
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally across engineering, manufacturing and quality teams
  • Experience working on small, compact or precision electronic products
  • Able to take ownership of designs and make informed engineering decisions
  • Experience with complex electronic designs (microcontrollers, analogue, power)
  • Understanding of quality systems and engineering change processes
