Group Head of People Services based in Southend, Essex. Salary: £60,000 FTE + Benefits. Full-Time | Temporary (with permanent option). Office-Based (4 Days per Week) with local site travel and one day WFH.
Are you an experienced Head of HR / People professional with a background in Further Education looking for your next challenge? If you're within a commutable distance of Southend, this opportunity offers the chance to join a well-established organisation on an initial contract with the potential to become permanent.
Working closely with the Group HR Director, you will lead and develop the HR and Recruitment team, ensuring the department is equipped to deliver an efficient and high-quality service across the organisation. You will play a key role in translating people strategy into practical initiatives, supporting organisational objectives and driving a positive employee experience.
The role has broad responsibility across:
- Employee relations
- HR operations
- Safer recruitment compliance
- Pay and reward
- HR systems
- People management
You will be comfortable identifying strengths within the team, addressing development needs and ensuring the HR function continues to evolve and add value to the wider business. This role is based between 3 sites, the main one being in Southend with 900 staff to support.
Main duties include:
