Job Description – Children’s Residential Support Worker
Job Purpose
To provide high-quality, child-centred care and support to children and young people living in a residential children’s home, ensuring their safety, wellbeing and development.
Key Responsibilities
- * Provide a safe, nurturing and homely environment.
- * Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people.
- * Support children’s emotional, social, educational and physical development.
- * Safeguard children and follow all child protection policies and procedures.
- * Promote positive behaviour using trauma-informed approaches and consistent boundaries.
- * Support daily routines, personal care and independence skills.
- * Maintain accurate records, complete reports and communicate effectively with colleagues and professionals.
- * Follow individual care plans, risk assessments and the home’s policies and procedures.
- * Work effectively as part of a team to achieve positive outcomes for children.
An enhanced DBS check and relevant safeguarding checks will be required, as applicable.
