The Role
We're looking for a passionate, organised and driven Assistant Venue Manager to become the Venue Manager's right hand and help deliver exceptional weddings and events.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has exceptional attention to detail and takes pride in making sure nothing gets missed. You'll work across every department, keeping teams aligned, supporting managers and ensuring plans become reality.
More than anything, we're looking for attitude over experience. If you have the passion, dedication and willingness to learn, we'll provide the training and support to help you succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership
Support the Venue Manager in the day-to-day running of the venue.
Coordinate all departments to ensure weddings, events and busy periods run seamlessly.
Work closely with department heads, the Operations Manager and Logistics Manager to keep everyone aligned and accountable.
Step into the Venue Manager's role whenever required.
Team Support & Accountability
Coach, support and challenge department managers to achieve their objectives.
Ensure actions from meetings, audits and reviews are completed on time.
Help identify and remove operational barriers before they become problems.
Support recruitment, development, probation reviews and performance management where required.
Standards & Guest Experience
Carry out regular venue, compliance and food quality audits.
Maintain exceptional presentation and service standards across the venue.
Resolve escalated guest concerns and use feedback to drive continuous improvement.
Commercial Performance
Support the Venue Manager in achieving commercial targets.
Help deliver successful wedding showcases and venue events.
Identify opportunities to improve revenue, efficiency and overall venue performance.
Monitor key operational metrics including GP, payroll and departmental costs.
Communication & Continuous Improvement
Keep communication flowing across all departments.
Coordinate management meetings and ensure actions are followed through.
Support new initiatives, operational improvements and venue projects.
Escalate significant risks or recurring issues when appropriate.
We're looking for someone who is:
Passionate about hospitality and creating unforgettable guest experiences.
Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail.
A natural leader who enjoys supporting and developing people.
Calm under pressure and able to prioritise in a busy environment.
Confident communicating across multiple departments.
Positive, proactive and solutions-focused.
Commercially aware with a desire to improve performance.
Previous hospitality or venue management experience is beneficial, but for the right person, attitude, commitment and willingness to learn are far more important than ticking every box.
What Success Looks Like
Departments work together efficiently and consistently deliver on their commitments.
Weddings and events run smoothly, with excellent operational readiness.
High venue standards are maintained through regular audits and continuous improvement.
Guest feedback remains outstanding, with issues resolved quickly and professionally.
Managers feel supported, developed and accountable.
The venue achieves its operational and commercial objectives.
You become a trusted deputy to the Venue Manager and a respected leader across the business.
What We Offer
Bonus of up to 15% of annual salary.
Enhanced pension contribution.
Employee Assistance Programme.
Bright Exchange discounts on retail, food, gym and leisure.
Staff discounts.
Optional private health insurance.
Salary sacrifice electric vehicle scheme.
Structured induction, training and ongoing development.
