About Us
Oldham College is committed to delivering excellence in education while embedding sustainability at the heart of everything we do. As part of our ambitious strategy to foster environmental stewardship and social responsibility, we are looking for a passionate and skilled Sustainability Officer to lead and develop sustainability initiatives across the College.

The Role
As Sustainability Officer, you will play a vital role in shaping Oldham Colleges sustainability agenda. You will develop and implement a comprehensive sustainability strategy, conduct environmental impact assessments, and promote a culture of sustainability among students, staff, and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and embedding sustainability policies aligned with the Colleges strategic goals
  • Managing environmental compliance and driving initiatives to reduce carbon footprint, waste, and energy consumption
  • Collecting and analysing sustainability data to inform reporting and continuous improvement
  • Leading awareness campaigns, training, and engagement activities for staff and students
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external partners to innovate and enhance sustainability practices

Who Were Looking For
Our ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelors degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Environmental Management, or a related field
  • 3-5 years experience in sustainability roles, with strong knowledge of frameworks such as UN SDGs and ESG
  • Proven skills in carbon accounting, waste management, and environmental compliance
  • Excellent project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to analyse data effectively and deliver compelling sustainability reports
  • A passion for environmental protection and the drive to foster an inclusive, responsible culture
