We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Carpentry and Joinery Tutor to join our team. If you are passionate about passing on your skills and knowledge to the next generation of carpenters and joiners, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality training and support to students, helping them develop practical carpentry and joinery skills, as well as the theoretical knowledge required for a successful career in the trade. You will be working with learners of various abilities and backgrounds, ensuring they achieve their full potential and gain the qualifications needed to thrive in the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver engaging and practical lessons in carpentry and joinery, both in the workshop and classroom environments.
  • Teach a range of skills, from basic woodworking techniques to advanced joinery tasks.
  • Provide individual support and guidance to students, helping them progress through their courses.
  • Assess students' work, both practical and theoretical, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Ensure students follow health and safety procedures at all times.
  • Monitor and track student progress, maintaining accurate records.
  • Collaborate with the curriculum team to continually improve the learning experience.
  • Prepare students for their assessments, examinations, and practical projects.
Requirements for the role:
  • Recognised qualification in Carpentry and Joinery (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
  • Industry experience in carpentry and joinery.
  • Teaching qualification.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
