About our Nursery

The Old Station Nursery Filkins, nestled in the heart of Filkins village near Lechlade, provides exceptional childcare in a charming rural community setting. Housed in the historic Old Village School, our nursery offers a nurturing environment for children aged two to five years. We have recently expanded our care with the opening of a brand-new 9-place baby room, providing a warm and supportive space for our youngest learners. Situated at the heart of the local community, children enjoy frequent visits to St. Peter’s Church and the serene Filkins Park. To find The Old Station Nursery Filkins, follow the signposts to The Five Alls Pub; the nursery is directly opposite. Convenient parking is available on the road by the nursery, right across from the Village Hall.

What Your Role Involves

  • Create a warm, fun, and nurturing environment where children feel safe and thrive.
  • Plan and deliver engaging, play-based activities aligned with the EYFS framework.
  • Build meaningful relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Monitor and celebrate children’s development milestones, keeping records to share with parents.
  • Support the day-to-day running of the nursery, maintaining high standards of hygiene, safety, and care.
  • Be a team player, offering guidance to apprentices and volunteers while learning from others.
