Great communication can change the way a business feels—and that's where you come in. At The Old Station Nursery, our people are at the heart of everything we do. From a Nursery Manager in Marlow to a practitioner in our newest setting, we want every colleague to feel informed, included, and part of our shared journey. We're looking for someone with a big heart and a curious mind to help make that happen.
Working closely and reporting to our Head of Business Change and Projects, you'll shape how we communicate internally, lead our employee engagement activity, support standout business events, and find smarter tools to reach a workforce that's mostly on its feet—not sitting behind a desk.
What you'll be doing:
- Running and evolving our internal comms channels and a calendar, so information flows clearly across every setting
- Creating warm, engaging content (written, visual, and digital) that sounds like us
- Co-ordinating employee engagement surveys and our annual engagement plan, championing a genuine 'you said, we did' culture
- Supporting the planning and delivery of business events, including our annual conference and summer fun days
- Getting hands‑on with tools like Microsoft 365, Canva and PowerPoint -and helping the team use them well.
What you'll bring:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an instinct for adapting your style to your audience
- Strong attention to detail and pride in quality
- Confidence picking up new digital tools and platforms
- Experience communicating in a multisite, non‑desk environment
- A proactive, solution‑focused mindset and great organisational skills
- A genuine enthusiasm for people, culture, and making work feel good
What you don't need:
Formal comms or marketing qualifications, or direct internal comms experience. If you've worked in a people‑facing, multisite environment and you care deeply about good communication, we'd love to hear from you.
Who you are:
Warmly human. Curious and creative. Courageous and clear. A team player who's flexible, adaptable, and genuinely caring -about your colleagues, the families we serve, and the children at the heart of it all.
What we offer:
- Childcare Perks: Free childcare for the first month and 52% discount (based on working hours) to support your family.
- Holiday and Celebrations: 31 days of holiday (inclusive of national bank holidays and the Christmas closure week), plus your birthday off!
- Career Development: Access to The National College full of training and courses
- Exclusive Discounts & Wellbeing Support: Enjoy Perkbox and Blue Light Card discounts, wellbeing tools, and online medical services.
- Recognition & Rewards: Refer a friend or family for exciting bonuses and celebrate milestones with long‑service awards.
- Volunteer Day: 1 paid day off per year to volunteer and give back to the community.
At The Old Station Nursery, our purpose is to grow good humans—and that includes our team. This is your chance to join a community where your journey matters just as much as the journeys of the children we care for. The Old Station Nursery is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and we expect all applicants to share this commitment. All roles are subject to enhanced DBS checks, satisfactory references, and verification of your right to work in the UK and any essential qualifications. If successful, our recruitment and compliance team will guide you through every step of the onboarding process. We are an inclusive employer and welcome applications from all backgrounds. Reasonable adjustments will be considered to ensure fairness and accessibility for all candidates.
