At Innsworth, we’re looking for an enthusiastic Nursery Third in Charge to guide and support our team in providing outstanding care and education. In this rewarding leadership role, you’ll have the opportunity to mentor, nurture, and create a positive impact for children, families, and your colleagues.

To be considered for this role, you must hold a Level 3 Early Years qualification or Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) along with strong experience working in a nursery setting. Please note: we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role.

The Old Station Nursery Innsworth provides exceptional childcare in a purpose-built, eco-friendly setting opposite Imjin Barracks. Our purpose-built nursery setting offers spacious, sunlit rooms ideal for exploration, featuring eco-friendly elements like a sedum roof and rainwater harvesting. Outside, our expansive garden exhibits a mud kitchen, vegetable garden, and engaging outdoor activities our children love.

To locate The Old Station Nursery Innsworth, follow signs to HQ ARRC and turn opposite Imjin Store. Situated directly across from Imjin Barracks and just 5 minutes from the A40. There is parking available onsite next to Costcutter.

What Being a Nursery Third In Charge Involves

As a Nursery Third in Charge, you will work alongside the Nursery Manager to lead and inspire your team while delivering exceptional care and education. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and mentoring the team to provide high-quality early years education with passion and energy.
  • Supporting the Nursery Manager to ensure smooth nursery operations and consistent quality.
  • Acting as a role model by promoting initiative, creativity, and high standards of care.
  • Building strong relationships with families, colleagues, and external agencies to support the best outcomes for children.
  • Overseeing the team’s implementation of the EYFS framework, ensuring engaging learning opportunities.
  • Taking charge of nursery operations in the Nursery Manager’s absence.
  • Encouraging continuous improvement through feedback and supporting professional development.
  • Maintaining a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment that meets each child’s needs.
