Join Our Team at Little Green Rascals as a Bank Nursery Cook! This is a zero hours, flexible contract for an experienced Cook to work across all 7 of the LGR Nursery sites in York (based at Flaxton Nursery) to cover holiday and staff sickness. Strong knowledge of food hygiene allergens is essential for this role.
Pay: £12.50 - £12.75 per hour plus accrued holiday pay
Working Hours: Zero hour contract - This gives you flexibility to work different shifts each week depending on the Nursery needs, between 8am-6pm - Monday to Friday.
Location: Based at Flaxton, Draft Farm, Flaxton, North Yorkshire, YO60 7QP - Also to cover shifts across other LGR sites.
Responsibilities:
- Providing delicious, nutritious food for 100+ children.
- Supporting with preparing the menu.
- Responsible for planning and ordering the food within the budget.
- Supporting with activities such as baking with the children.
- Ensuring the kitchen environment is kept clean and safe.
About Our Nursery: Based in a charming farmhouse, our nursery is the perfect setting for our outdoor-focused learning environment centred around the importance of playing in nature. At Little Green Rascals Flaxton, we provide care for up to 60 children, each one benefiting from our unique approach that encourages exploration, curiosity, and a love for the great outdoors. We have 3 rooms: Wiggly Worms (babies), Cheeky Hens (toddlers), and Little Green Rascals (preschool). We are also incredibly lucky at Flaxton to have access to an amazing Forest School, run by our Forest School Lead.
