Main duties of the jobThe post holder will work 5 sessions per week across Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, providing high-quality, patient-centred general medical care. Clinical duties include routine and follow-up consultations with 15‑minute appointment slots, allowing time for safe, thorough assessments and continuity of care. The role is non‑duty, with no requirement for on‑call or duty sessions. The successful applicant will be well supported by two experienced GP partners, with easy access to clinical advice, regular informal discussion, and a strong team‑based approach to patient care.
About usThe Old School Surgery is a small, friendly rural dispensing practice caring for approximately 3,500 patients which is beautifully situated alongside the Kennet & Avon Canal in the North Wessex Downs, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village benefits from direct train links to London, nearby motorway connections, excellent local schools, and easy access to Savernake Forest and the market towns of Marlborough and Hungerford. A welcoming village store with post office and bakery is located immediately adjacent to the practice, adding to the strong sense of community and work‑life balance.

The practice offers a wide range of enhanced services including minor surgery, joint injections, cryotherapy and LARC services, providing varied and rewarding clinical work within a well‑supported environment.
Job responsibilities- Very well supported by two GP partners.
- Wednesday – 2 sessions; Thursday – AM 1 session; Friday – 2 sessions.
