We are hiring an Assistant Bar Manager to lead the team at The Old Queen's Head. You will take charge of a high-volume bar, deliver standout service, and set the tone on the floor with energy, confidence, and a genuine love for hospitality. The Old Queen's Head is one of London's most iconic pubs. With its spectacular setting including bespoke chandeliers, sumptuous vintage décor and 16th Century fireplaces, our beloved pub also operates as a live performance venue and plays host to world-class bands and DJs. The venue has unique private playrooms available for exclusive party bookings. Throughout the week, the kitchen is now home to Hot Saint, NY-style no-nonsense pizza made for pub culture and on Sundays, superior roasts.
What you will be up to:
- Running the bar: Oversee both daytime and late-night services in one of Islington's busiest pubs.
- Training and development: Mentor, train, and motivate our bartenders, creating a culture of growth and high standards.
- Cash and rota management: Lead daily cash-ups and keep rotas smooth and efficient.
- Stock control: Manage stock with precision, from premium spirits to everyday essentials.
- Recruitment: Hire and onboard new talent, building a strong and passionate team.
- Site maintenance: Keep the bar looking and running at its best.
- Brand ambassador: Live and breathe The Old Queen's Head spirit, bringing energy, personality, and consistency to every shift.

- Solid management experience in a fast-paced bar environment.
