The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seek an academic Cardio-Oncologist to direct the Cardio-Oncology Section within the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine. Academic rank and track commensurate with academic record and experience.
Position Overview
The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine seeks a board-certified/board-eligible cardio-oncologist at the associate professor or professor rank, with an extramurally funded clinical or translational research program to lead an elite team of academic physicians. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership in both clinical care and research initiatives, leading the Division’s Cardio-Oncology Section with a focus on defining the mechanisms underlying cardiovascular toxicity of oncologic treatments, advancing preventative care, and managing cardiovascular complications from therapy.
Responsibilities
- Expanding outpatient and inpatient consultative services in routine and complex cardio-oncology care in our world-class facilities at the Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital and the James Cancer Hospital, and Solove Research Institute.
- Advancing cardio-oncology research.
- Mentoring junior faculty and trainees.
The Ohio State University Division of Cardiovascular Medicine is setting new standards for advanced heart and vascular care through our internationally and nationally recognized experts of more than 60 cardiology and vascular medicine specialists. We offer heart and vascular patients some of the most exciting and innovative technologies, treatments, and clinical trials, many of which are only available at Ohio State. Most of our faculty are principal investigators on various research projects in both the basic, translational, and clinical research settings.

The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine
The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, comprised of over 60 cardiologists with focus areas to include: general cardiology, interventional, electrophysiology, adult congenital heart disease, heart failure, heart transplantation, mechanical circulatory assist, pulmonary vascular disease, women’s cardiovascular disease, cardiac MRI/CT, and cardio-oncology. The Division is affiliated with the Ross Heart Hospital, which ranked as “Best Hospital” in the top 50 in the nation as reported by US News and World Report.
In addition to the 60 cardiologists, there are six fellowship programs: core cardiovascular medicine fellowship, interventional cardiology fellowship, electrophysiology fellowship, heart failure and cardiac transplant fellowship, adult congenital heart disease fellowship, and cardiovascular diagnostic imaging fellowship. The division provides services in over 12 counties in Ohio and Kentucky.
