The Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seeks a full-time, Board Certified/Eligible Plastic Surgeon. Academic rank and track commensurate with academic record and experience.

Position Overview

The Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery is seeking an outstanding, motivated, board-certified/board-eligible plastic surgeon to join our comprehensive plastic surgery team. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest and experience in breast and body surgery, lower extremity reconstruction, complex wounds, and have a genuine commitment to building and growing a clinical program within an academic health system. This position offers the opportunity to assume leadership positions at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center’s East Hospital and Comprehensive Wound Center, where they would play a pivotal role in program development, clinical innovation, and the continued expansion of plastic surgery services. The successful candidate will join several existing multidisciplinary teams dedicated to collaboration and delivering exceptional patient care. The successful candidate will also contribute actively to the department’s academic mission through teaching and mentorship of residents and medical students. Prior experience in contributing to and building multidisciplinary programs is strongly preferred.

Department/Division Overview

The Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery has 20 full-time faculty, 5 faculty at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and 10 community faculty who are committed to the tripartite mission of clinical excellence, research and education. Our residency program consists of both integrated and independent pathways. We have 27 residents and 3 fellows (microsurgery and nerve). We are a referral center for central Ohio, West Virginia and Kentucky and provide comprehensive Plastic Surgery care at the Wexner Medical Center including University Hospital, East Hospital, The James Comprehensive Cancer Center and the multiple free-standing ambulatory sites of The Ohio State University.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To provide safe, high quality patient care
  • To provide clinical and didactic education to learners of all levels
  • To adhere to all other duties and guidelines of the Department and The Chair as assigned.

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O
  • Completion of an accredited Plastic Surgery Residency Program
  • Board certification or Board Eligible in Plastic Surgery
  • Eligible for an Ohio Medical License

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years of Post Residency Experience
  • Prior experience in leadership and program development

Clinical faculty (regardless of rank) - Persons with titles of assistant professor-clinical, associate professor-clinical and professor-clinical. These faculty will have earned a Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), doctorate (PhD) or other terminal degree in the relevant field. Clinical faculty members are not eligible.
