The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seek a clinical psychologist to join the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Health.

Position Overview

We are committed to providing compassionate, evidence‑based care and seek a faculty member to help build our Suicide Prevention clinical program. The area of specialization is open; we particularly welcome candidates with expertise in suicidal thoughts, behaviours, and related conditions, as well as those with complementary skills such as cognitive‑behavioural and dialectical behaviour therapies.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide patient care, including clinical evaluation, assessment, individual and group psychotherapy for patients with recent suicidal ideation, behaviours, and emotion‑regulation difficulties.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members and participate in meetings, committees, and conferences.
  • Engage in educational activities within the College of Medicine, including teaching and supervision.
  • Conduct clinical research related to suicide prevention and other mental health issues.
  • Represent the program or department at professional meetings and community engagements.
  • Practice within the established Medical Center and adhere to policies, procedures, and protocols.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in Psychology (clinical or counselling).
  • Licensed or license‑eligible in the state of Ohio.
  • Completion of an APA‑ or CPA‑accredited clinical or counselling psychology doctoral program with an accredited clinical internship.
  • At least one year of post‑doctoral experience and licensure in Ohio by the time of appointment.
  • Competence in DSM‑5 and ICD‑10 diagnostic practice; ability to provide technical clinical skills and interpersonal services to patients in suicidal ideation, mood dysregulation, and trauma‑related disorders.
