We are looking for a passionate and driven Junior Journalist with a strong interest in sports to join our growing team in Bingham. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their journalism career who wants to develop their skills, gain real industry experience, and contribute to exciting sports-related content and outreach projects.
This is a dual-role position split between:
- 50% Journalism: Researching, interviewing, writing, and producing sports-focused articles and digital content
- 50% Outreach: Engaging with communities, clubs, organisations, and partners to support awareness, reach, and content opportunities
Key responsibilities will include:
- Research and write high-quality sports articles, features, and interviews
- Support content creation for web, social media and publications
- Attend sport events, matches, or local activities when required
- Build relationships with athletes, clubs, coaches, and community groups
- Assist with outreach campaigns, including contacting organisations and coordinating interviews
- Contribute ideas to editorial planning and content strategy
- Ensure accuracy, clarity, and brand alignment in all published content
What we are looking for:
- Strong interest in sports and sports storytelling
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to research and present information clearly
- Confident speaking to new people and conducting interviews
