The Occupational Health Team Ltd is a well-established nurse-led occupational health provider delivering services across Northern Ireland and, where required, the Republic of Ireland. Due to continued business growth and service development, we are always keen to hear from Registered Nurses interested in developing a career within Occupational Health. We welcome applications from both experienced Occupational Health Nurses and nurses seeking to transition into this specialist area of practice. About the Role
Successful applicants will join our clinical team delivering occupational health services to a wide range of organisations and industries. The role offers the opportunity to develop specialist clinical skills within occupational health, supported by ongoing supervision and training. Subject to successful completion of probation, there may also be opportunities to undertake a recognised Occupational Health qualification as part of professional development. Travel across Northern Ireland and, occasionally, the Republic of Ireland forms part of the role.
Working Pattern
- Monday to Friday daytime clinics
- Full-time and part-time opportunities available
- Part-time working patterns from 3 days per week considered
- Occasional evening or night clinics may arise depending on client requirements
- Travel to client sites across Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland required
Key Responsibilities
The successful applicant may be involved in a range of occupational health activities including:
- Undertaking statutory health surveillance programmes including audiometry, spirometry, and other screening requirements
- Conducting pre-employment health assessments and advising on fitness for role
- Supporting fitness-for-work assessments and sickness absence management
- Assisting with return-to-work planning, phased returns, and workplace adjustments
- Participating in workplace risk assessments and providing occupational health advice
- Supporting workplace health promotion and wellbeing initiatives
- Maintaining accurate and confidential clinical records in line with professional standards and data protection requirements
- Participating in continuing professional development and occupational health training
Essential Criteria
Applicants should demonstrate:
- Current registration as an Adult Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and/or Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
- A minimum of two years post-registration clinical experience
- A full current driving licence and access to a vehicle suitable for business use
Desirable Criteria
Previous Occupational Health experience
- A recognised Occupational Health qualification
- Dual registration with both NMC and NMBI
Applicants with Occupational Health experience or qualifications are particularly encouraged to apply.

Registration Requirement
As services are delivered across both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, successful applicants may be required to hold registration with both the NMC and NMBI depending on their primary registration. Support and guidance will be provided where additional registration is required.
