We are hiring a passionate Learning & Behaviour Mentor to provide dedicated 1:1 support for young learners. In this role, you will be the catalyst for change, helping to build confidence, improve engagement with learning, and foster emotional resilience.
This role requires a patient, empathetic individual who can balance firm boundaries with a nurturing approach. You will be the stable figure who helps a young person navigate their education and their emotions.
What You Will Do
- Deliver Tailored Mentoring: You will provide bespoke, one-on-one mentoring and general academic support. You help bridge gaps in core subjects (Literacy and Numeracy) and make learning accessible for children who may have fallen behind.
- Support Regulation: You will implement effective strategies to manage challenging behaviour and foster emotional regulation. You help the child understand their feelings and react constructively.
- Create Engagement: You will design creative, engaging learning activities that look beyond the textbook to capture the child\’s interest and motivation.
- Track & Report: Using established frameworks (such as ABA principles), you will monitor student progress and report clearly on outcomes to ensure the support plan is working.
- Build the Network: You will collaborate closely with parents, teachers, and specialists to create a unified support network around the child.
What You Bring
- Behaviour Management: You have proven skills in managing challenging behaviour and de-escalating situations with empathy.
- Mentoring Experience: You have a background in youth work, tutoring, or education, with the ability to support a child through their general school curriculum.
- Patience & Empathy: You are naturally calm and understanding, capable of building rapport with young people who may be resistant to learning.
- Communication: You can communicate complex feedback clearly to parents and professionals.
- Transport: You hold a valid UK Driving Licence and have access to your own vehicle (Essential).
