We are seeking an exceptional, values-driven leader to join our senior leadership team as Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion (including SENDCo). This is a unique opportunity for a passionate and strategic leader to drive an ambitious vision for inclusion, ensuring that every pupil—regardless of need, background or circumstance—thrives and achieves highly to support the development of the mainstream provision as well as supporting the opening of a new Communication and Interaction Resource Base.
As Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the direction of the school, leading a culture where inclusion is at the heart of everything we do.
Responsibilities- Provide strategic leadership of SEND, inclusion, EAL and wider pastoral provision
- Lead and develop high-quality, inclusive teaching and curriculum pathways
- Ensure full compliance with statutory SEND duties, including EHCP processes and graduated approach
- Use data, research and evidence to evaluate provision and drive continuous improvement
- Lead, develop and inspire colleagues through high-quality CPD and coaching
- Work in partnership with families and external agencies to ensure joined-up, impactful support
- Contribute fully to whole-school leadership and improvement priorities
- Outstanding teacher and experienced SEND leader
- Strong track record of improving outcomes for pupils with additional needs
- Deep understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and inclusive pedagogy
- Strategic leadership while ensuring operational excellence
- Credibility and skill to influence, challenge and develop others
- Committed to equity, inclusion and achieving excellence for all pupils
