Medical Receptionist Part-Time The Oaks Family Practice Bangor Health Centre, Newtownards Road, Bangor, BT20 4LD Hours: 1520 hours per week Additional hours may be available to provide cover for annual leave and sickness.

Benefits: On-site parking About the Role The Oaks Family Practice is seeking a friendly, organised and reliable Medical Receptionist to join our busy and supportive team.

As the first point of contact for patients, you will play an important role in delivering an efficient, professional and compassionate service.

Previous experience as a medical receptionist is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.

Essential Criteria Minimum of 4 GCSEs (or equivalent), including English and Mathematics.

Competent in the use of IT systems.

At least 1 year's experience in a customer-facing or administrative role.

Evidence of working effectively both as part of a team and on your own initiative.

Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work accurately under pressure.

A professional, courteous and confidential approach at all times.

Desirable Criteria Previous experience working as a medical receptionist.

Experience using the EMIS clinical system.

Main Duties The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of reception and administrative duties, including: Welcoming patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.

Answering telephone enquiries and responding appropriately.

Booking, cancelling and amending appointments by telephone and in person.

Updating and maintaining patient medical records.

Processing incoming and outgoing mail.

Maintaining strict patient confidentiality.

Working with computerised systems, including EMIS.

Taking and accurately relaying messages.

Liaising with local pharmacies and other healthcare professionals.

Communicating test results to patients in line with practice procedures.

Providing general administrative support.

Please note that duties may vary throughout the working day in line with the operational needs of the practice.
