Overview
Passionate about improving children’s life chances? The Oaks Academy, a vibrant, forward‑thinking 11‑16 school, seeks an LRC Manager and Literacy Intervention Practitioner. As a qualified primary specialist, secondary specialist or skilled practitioner, you will develop our provision of phonics, reading and writing, promote literacy across the school and lead small intervention groups for those with low literacy levels.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support the Learning Resource Centre, ensuring it remains at the heart of the school.
- Promote literacy throughout the school, including planning and delivering effective phonics, reading and writing lessons.
- Lead and deliver small intervention groups for students with low literacy levels.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice and develop literacy across the curriculum.
Qualifications
- Qualified primary specialist, secondary specialist or appropriately qualified practitioner.
- Strong knowledge of phonics, reading and writing provision.
- Experience leading intervention groups and promoting literacy.
- Committed to safeguarding, equality and inclusion.

Contract & Salary
Hours of work: 37 per week (full‑time during term time).
Contract type: Temporary basis until 31 March 2026 (first instance).

Salary range: £28,599 – £31,023 (pro‑rata £24,676 – £26,767 per annum).
