Salary: £25,443.60 pro rata, per annum

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 24 hours per week

Are you passionate about numbers and want your work to contribute to real social impact? We are looking for a dedicated Finance Officer to join our friendly finance team at a charity that supports vulnerable people across the North of the UK.

About the Role:

Although the job title is Finance Officer, the main focus of the role is purchase ledger. This is a great opportunity for someone with solid finance experience who wants to make a difference and work in a positive, people-centred environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the purchase ledger and process bank transactions.
  • Prepare payment runs and ensure timely authorisation of invoices.
  • Collaborate with managers to ensure accurate document processing.
  • Assist with accruals, prepayments, and intercompany transactions.
  • Support the Finance Manager and Senior Finance Officer in preparing month-end and management accounts.
  • Provide general support to the finance team with day-to-day duties.

Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar finance or purchase ledger role.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Quick learner with strong analytical thinking.
  • Excellent Excel skills.
  • Accounting qualifications (AAT or similar) are a bonus, but not essential.
  • Training and development opportunities may be offered.
  • An Enhanced DBS will be required for each successful candidate (Paid for by Oaklea, T&Cs apply).
