Veterinary Surgeon Salary up to £65,000 FTE DOE. Welcome bonus up to £1500 and relocation allowance up to £3000.

Ideally, we’re looking for an experienced Practitioner to join The Oak working with our existing Veterinary Team at our main site in Haverfordwest where we are due to benefit from a Premises Redevelopment Programme, as well as working at our other branches in Fishguard and St David’s all located around the Pembrokeshire Coastline.

Our practice is based in beautiful Pembrokeshire surrounded by the most stunning coastal and countryside that Wales has to offer – the extent of recreational advantages along with breath‑taking scenery the best location offering 186 miles the longest and oldest established section of the Wales Coastal Path passing by 58 beaches and 14 harbours!

Our main small animal surgery in Haverfordwest offers surgery, dentistry, internal laboratory, ultrasound, radiography, and endoscopy. Our Fishguard branch has a unique facility Vet Led base offering our aquatic treadmill for hydrotherapy on site along with Physiotherapy, Laser & Massage delivered by our qualified hydrotherapy specialists including our Vet led acupuncture services. We also have an internal laboratory, dentistry, and surgical facilities at this site with use of laser in both sites.

Within our Team we have an advanced practitioner in Small Animal Surgery who performs our advanced surgeries allowing the Vet Team to deal with orthopaedic work and complex soft tissue surgery in house, and several of our Vet Team being able to perform acupuncture. We enjoy regular social events including our annual Team Building days and Christmas get together and there are also other optional get together events all year round.

Recently in 2026 one of our Nurses has actively supported a Voluntary Neutering Scheme in Sri Lanka offering her expertise with support from IVC Grant funding – we support and encourage the opportunity to offer their valuable support; they also hope to continue in future years.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll work collaboratively with the wider practice team to deliver a high standard of patient and client care across a varied and rewarding caseload. You’ll continue to develop your clinical skills and interests while sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues, contributing positively to the clinical culture of the practice. You’ll be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering excellent care and supporting the ongoing development of those around you.

Primarily based at the Haverfordwest practice, with rotational work across two other locations. Flexible rota patterns and working hours to support work‑life balance. Weekday shifts run 8:30am‑7:00pm with up to a 1‑hour lunch break and rotational late cover. Saturday shifts are 8:30am‑1:30pm on a rotational basis. We offer alternative external services for our clients for our Out of hours provision with our Vets where necessary we also offer supportive In Patient Care. Full-time, part-time, and job share applications are welcomed.
