We operate in one of the fastest growing segments of FMCG right now - pet food - and we are proud to be Europe's leading company within the natural premium segment. Our headquarters are in Stockholm and Düsseldorf, and we currently have +750 employees spread across Europe. We generate 200+ million EUR turnover with strong profitability, and we are owned by the Nordic private equity company Axcel. At The Nutriment Company, we have a highly motivated, ambitious, and fun team that aspires to take our company to the next level, as we expand at a high pace both through organic growth and acquisitions across Europe.

The Role: We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Planning & Supply Chain Manager to lead all planning, procurement, and supply chain activity across our UK business. This is a critical role that sits at the heart of our operations, directly influencing product availability, cost efficiency, and gross margin performance. You will be responsible for end-to-end supply chain planning, from raw material procurement through to finished goods availability, and will work closely with commercial, finance, and operations teams to ensure we are always well-positioned to meet demand efficiently and profitably. You will report to the Vice President Operations UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demand & Production Planning: Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts for both raw materials and resale product lines, drawing on sales data, market trends, and commercial intelligence. Lead S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) processes, aligning supply plans with commercial forecasts. Plan and schedule production requirements to ensure on-time fulfilment while optimising capacity utilisation. Monitor and manage inventory levels to balance availability against working capital targets.
  • Purchasing & Procurement: Own the procurement of all raw materials for the UK business, ensuring continuity of supply at optimal cost. Manage supplier relationships, lead negotiations, and drive continuous improvement in terms, lead times, and quality. Develop and maintain a robust supplier base, including qualification of alternative sources to mitigate supply risk. Oversee the purchase order process, ensuring accuracy and timely execution.
  • Supply Chain Management: Manage inbound logistics and coordinate with third-party logistics providers (3PLs) and freight partners. Identify and resolve supply chain disruptions proactively, escalating risks with clear mitigation plans. Drive improvements in supply chain visibility through systems, data, and reporting. Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, customs requirements, and any relevant trade compliance obligations.
  • Cost & Margin Management: Track and manage supply-side costs, identifying opportunities to improve GP1 margin. Build and maintain cost models for raw materials and resale products, incorporating market trends. Partner with finance to ensure accurate cost of goods data for budgeting, forecasting, and pricing decisions. Report on supply chain KPIs, highlighting variances and corrective actions.
  • Leadership & Stakeholder Management: Lead purchasing team, setting clear objectives and fostering a high-performance culture. Act as the primary point of contact for supply chain matters across the UK business. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, marketing, finance, and operations to ensure supply plans reflect business priorities. Present supply chain performance and risk updates to senior leadership.

Skills & Experience

  • Essential: Proven experience in a supply chain planning, procurement, or operations management role, ideally within FMCG / Manufacturing / Distribution / Retail. Strong demand forecasting and S&OP experience. Demonstrable track record of cost reduction and margin improvement. Excellent analytical skills with high proficiency in Excel. Strong commercial acumen and ability to interpret financial data. Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Desirable: CIPS qualification (or working towards). Experience managing a team. Previous experience in meat industries.

What you can expect: Opportunity to make a tangible impact in a growing company. Competitive salary £55k-60k + bonus. 25 days annual leave + bank holidays.
