Chef, Cook, all rounder, required in a very busy café/ tea room/ restaurant. We offer all day breakfasts, amazing cakes, Afternoon Teas, great roasts and a variety of savoury dishes daily. Experience in a fast paced environment and Level2 needed. Small friendly team, straight shifts, excellent work/ life balance, food provided during shift. Due to the rural location, driving is a must.

Long term position to cover Friday, Saturday AND Sunday minimum (other week days available for the right person). Shifts can vary (8.30 to 11 start until close: between 3.30 and 5.00 depending on how busy we are). No evening shifts. Tuesdays off. We can be flexible with your hours if needed. You must be proactive, eager & able to keep up in a busy kitchen and confident enough to run the kitchen for the HC if needs be. Kitchen experience is a MUST as well as excellent personal hygiene and presentation.

We are not offering Michelin star food to our customers but have an amazing reputation to uphold. High standards required. Open to new ideas constantly if you want to run specials.

Tasks will involve prepping food, cooking, sometimes baking and keeping the kitchen spotless and tidy. We are ALL involved in cleaning and washing up.

Please note: this position is on a LONG time basis and will involve every weekend. PAYE only.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Part-time hours: 20/30h per week for the right candidate.

Salary: £10-£14 per hour according to experience and age. Higher possible for the right person. Tips on top.

Responsibilities:

– Lead kitchen and cook food to a high standard.
– Assist in food preparation and cooking under supervision of head chef
– Clean and sanitise work areas, equipment, utensils, and dishes
– Assist in receiving and storing food supplies and ingredients
– Follow proper food handling and safety procedures
– Help with inventory management and stock rotation
– Assist in maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment

Requirements:
– Previous experience in a kitchen or food service setting IS required
– Good knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
– Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
– Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
– Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Notes:

This position involves standing for long periods of time and sometimes lifting heavy objects.

You must be able to prove that you can work in the UK if needs be.
