Overview HEAD OF SOCIOLOGY The Norton Knatchbull School is seeking to appoint an inspiring Head of Sociology to lead the delivery of Sociology at GCSE and A Level with a November, or possibly earlier start. This is a permanent position. We welcome applicants from either selective or mixed-ability settings, who are keen to work with high achieving and motivated students. Responsibilities Lead the Sociology department and oversee delivery of GCSE and A Level curriculum (AQA specification). Be an exceptional classroom practitioner who inspires both students and colleagues. Drive high standards of teaching and learning and lead department development with energy and vision. Support and develop students in achieving their full potential and maintain high uptake and engagement in Sociology. Requirements / Qualifications Proven track record of securing excellent examination outcomes. Excellent classroom practice and the ability to lead and motivate a department. Capacity to work with high achieving and motivated students and staff. Experience of leading a department and implementing effective teaching strategies is desirable. Knowledge of the AQA specification and commitment to high-quality teaching and support. Role Details This Subject Leader post attracts a TLR 2b - £6,069.
