  • HEAD OF SOCIOLOGY

The Norton Knatchbull School is seeking to appoint an inspiring Head of Sociology to lead the delivery of Sociology at GCSE and A Level with a November, or possibly earlier start.

This is a permanent position.

We welcome applicants from either selective or mixed-ability settings, who are keen to work with high achieving and motivated students.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Sociology department and oversee delivery of GCSE and A Level curriculum (AQA specification).
  • Be an exceptional classroom practitioner who inspires both students and colleagues.
  • Drive high standards of teaching and learning and lead department development with energy and vision.
  • Support and develop students in achieving their full potential and maintain high uptake and engagement in Sociology.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Proven track record of securing excellent examination outcomes.
  • Excellent classroom practice and the ability to lead and motivate a department.
  • Capacity to work with high achieving and motivated students and staff.
  • Experience of leading a department and implementing effective teaching strategies is desirable.
  • Knowledge of the AQA specification and commitment to high-quality teaching and support.

This Subject Leader post attracts a TLR 2b - £6,069.
