- HEAD OF SOCIOLOGY
The Norton Knatchbull School is seeking to appoint an inspiring Head of Sociology to lead the delivery of Sociology at GCSE and A Level with a November, or possibly earlier start.
This is a permanent position.
We welcome applicants from either selective or mixed-ability settings, who are keen to work with high achieving and motivated students.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Sociology department and oversee delivery of GCSE and A Level curriculum (AQA specification).
- Be an exceptional classroom practitioner who inspires both students and colleagues.
- Drive high standards of teaching and learning and lead department development with energy and vision.
- Support and develop students in achieving their full potential and maintain high uptake and engagement in Sociology.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Proven track record of securing excellent examination outcomes.
- Excellent classroom practice and the ability to lead and motivate a department.
- Capacity to work with high achieving and motivated students and staff.
- Experience of leading a department and implementing effective teaching strategies is desirable.
- Knowledge of the AQA specification and commitment to high-quality teaching and support.
