Duke’s Secondary School is seeking an enthusiastic, creative and reliable Learning Support Assistant to join our dedicated team and support both students and teachers throughout the busy academic year. This is a rewarding opportunity to play an important role in the classroom, helping students access learning and achieve their full potential.

Day to day responsibilities include:

  • Supporting students in following class instructions.
  • Assisting the teacher with behaviour management.
  • Helping to prepare lesson materials and classroom resources.

The successful candidate will be resilient, organised, and able to work both independently and collaboratively in a busy classroom environment. You will support the delivery of lessons and encourage students to actively engage in learning activities.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and support students in accessing learning opportunities.
  • Encourage students to engage with and participate in activities set by the class teacher.
  • Build positive relationships with students, acting as a role model and responding to the needs of each individual learner.
  • Support the teacher in maintaining a positive and productive classroom environment through effective behaviour management.
  • Prepare, organise and maintain equipment and learning resources, assisting students in their use where required.
