We are recruiting on behalf of a family-run, award-winning construction delivery partner operating across London and the South East since 2001. They specialise in planned maintenance, refurbishment, roofing, retrofit, and fire safety solutions across social housing, education, commercial, heritage and healthcare sectors.
The Opportunity
Due to continued growth, we are looking to appoint an experienced Commercial Manager to lead the commercial function across a portfolio of refurbishment, planned works, roofing and building safety projects. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established contractor with a strong reputation for quality, partnership working and long-term client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all commercial activities across multiple projects from pre-construction through to final account
- Manage and develop Quantity Surveyors and commercial teams
- Oversee cost control, valuations, variations, procurement and subcontractor accounts
- Ensure robust contract administration across JCT / NEC forms of contract
- Maximise project profitability while managing commercial risk
- Produce accurate monthly CVRs, forecasts and performance reports
- Support bid and tender submissions with pricing and commercial input
- Build strong working relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners
- Drive continuous improvement across commercial processes and systems
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Commercial Manager or Senior Commercial professional within construction / refurbishment sectors
- Strong background in social housing, planned maintenance, roofing or fire safety projects advantageous
- Excellent knowledge of contract law, procurement and cost management
- Experience managing teams and mentoring junior staff
- Commercially astute with strong negotiation skills
- Full UK driving licence
