The Northern Lighthouse Board is recruiting Mechanical Technicians to support the maintenance and operation of Scotland’s lighthouse and navigation aid network.
This role suits experienced mechanical technicians who enjoy hands-on engineering work, travel, and working in unique coastal and island locations.
The role
- You will work as part of a multi-discipline technical team supporting essential aids to navigation for the safety of mariners.
- You will carry out mechanical plant installation, maintenance, and repair across a wide range of lighthouse and marine assets.
- You will diagnose faults, carry out inspections, and perform testing to ensure equipment operates reliably and to specification.
- You will travel by land, sea, and air to lighthouses and sites across Scotland and the Isle of Man.
