Volunteer Lead: Chef Manager
Hours: 3‑4 hours a week (between 10 am‑3 pm)
Purpose of Role & Service
The Hospice café provides meals to all patients, visitors, staff and volunteers. This role is to assist the catering team in the smooth running of our café maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety.
Key Activities
- Loading and unloading the dishwasher
- Washing some dishes by hand when required
- Serving patients/visitors/staff/volunteers at the till
- Taking cash payments and electronic forms of payment
- Restocking cutlery and crockery shelves
- Taking meals to patients/visitors/staff/volunteers
- Comply with food hygiene and safety requirements
- Maintaining high standards of cleaning
- Reporting all near misses, accidents and incidents
- Full training will be provided
Organisational Responsibilities
- To seek help and support when needed
- Participate in mandatory training and attend any courses that may be relevant
- Attend volunteer meetings and sessions whenever possible
- To act within your scope of your volunteering role at all times
- To respect at all times confidentiality of information covering patients, staff and volunteers
