As Events Sales Manager you will maximise revenue opportunities in the areas of conferences, groups and events by driving sales leads and increasing conversions. You will interact frequently with Guests and customers with the intention of earning repeat and expanded business. Specifically, the Events Sales Manager will perform the following tasks to the highest standards.
Main Duties And Responsibilities
- Act as Deputy for the Director of Groups, Meetings and Events to ensure an efficient and accurate run of the office in their absence and be the point of contact for all required tasks normally fulfilled by the head of the department.
- Maximise revenue opportunities in the areas of group reservations, conferences and events by driving sales leads and increasing conversions.
- Receive and convert incoming enquiries to achieve targets and maximize revenue.
- Respond in a timely manner to internal and external catering sales inquiries or requests and provide assistance as needed.
- Apply highest attention to detail when responding to enquiries and when planning an event.
- Act as a liaison with other departments or functions (Operations, Front Office, F&B, etc.).
- Lead and organize weekly event meetings with kitchen and operations team.
- Attend relevant meetings.
- Establish and maintain effective employee working relations both within the department and with other departments.
- Adhere to all standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, memos and verbal instructions.
- Maintain “open door” communication with employees.
- Supervise the day-to-day performance of the Groups, Conference & Events Sales office.
- Focus on a consistently executed bespoke approach for each event and maximize the up-selling opportunities.
- Be versatile and positive in developing and managing customer relationships with a high standard of communication.
- Fully understand the needs of the customer and strive to meet or exceed those expectations at all times.
- Arrange and carry out remarkable Hotel show rounds.
- Participate in hotel promotional activities.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date customer records in the Delphi.
- Ensure all relevant checklists/responsibilities of the Groups, Conference & Events Sales team are completed to the appropriate standard and in a timely manner.
- Ensure professional and efficient utilization of all systems, in line with company best practices and standard operating procedures.
- Know and promote the hotel facilities and also have knowledge of our competitors’ strengths and weaknesses.
- Monitor revenue and GC&E processes owned by the G, C,& E office.
- Ensure all enquiries are dealt with promptly, in line with company standards.
- Ensure accuracy of all bookings; standard contracts signed and clear billing details received.
- Ensure accurate and up to date customer records are maintained.
- Have a sound knowledge of all technical systems and procedures relating to the role and assist in supporting the department to utilise accurately and efficiently.
- Comply with all systems, procedures and GC&E best practice as laid down by the Director of Catering and Sales.
- Manage customer satisfaction post event and resolve any outstanding issues and secure future sales leads.
- Develop, maintain and communicate excellent product knowledge and use in delivering the benefits of the product to the client.
- Assist the Director of Groups, Meetings and Events in the collation of daily/weekly/monthly reports focusing on call volumes, conversion statistics, daily activities, C&B monthly statistics, cancellation charges and meeting room occupancy, with emphasis on the reports that need to be generated for, and in conjunction with RMCC.
- Support the Director of Groups, Meetings and Events in the forecasting process where necessary for the Groups segments and C&E.
