Building on the success of THE NICI brand, already recognised as one of the UK’s most exciting hotel concepts, THE NICI Newquay will bring a fresh, elevated hospitality experience to one of the country’s most iconic seaside destinations. This investment will transform the property into a lifestyle-led beach club hotel, combining luxury accommodations, vibrant food & beverage offerings, wellness facilities, and inspiring event spaces. Set in an enviable position overlooking the ocean, THE NICI Newquay will redefine coastal stays in Cornwall, appealing to leisure, corporate, and social markets alike. The Role

We are seeking an ambitious and commercially driven Director of Sales to lead all aspects of sales, events, and business development for THE NICI Newquay. This is a key leadership role, integral to the successful launch and positioning of the hotel post-refurbishment. You will be responsible for establishing the sales strategy, driving revenue, building strong partnerships, and embedding THE NICI sales culture across the hotel, while working closely with the Group Sales and Marketing teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Account manage key Corporate, Meetings & Events, and Leisure accounts
  • Develop and grow social and lifestyle-led business in line with brand strategy
  • Work closely with the Group Sales Director and Events team to set and deliver the on-property Sales & Events strategy
  • Secure new business aligned with the hotel’s commercial objectives and market positioning
  • Negotiate and develop local partnerships and sponsorships to create long-term, profitable collaborations
  • Deliver cross-sell expectations across the wider THE NICI Group
  • Drive promotional activity in line with agreed budgets and commercial plans
  • Manage existing accounts, producing revenue, production, and forecasting reports as required
  • Report on proactive sales activity in line with Group SOPs
  • Achieve total hotel budget by creating and embedding a strong sales culture across the property
  • Maximise sales and events opportunities in collaboration with Group Sales and Group Meetings & Events teams
  • Represent THE NICI Newquay at local networking, trade, and industry events
  • Coordinate agent, client, and media showcase and familiarisation visits
  • Work closely with the General Manager and leadership team to position the hotel successfully within the local and national market
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to ensure the hotel is presented at the highest standard across all channels
