Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for:
- Overseeing the day-to-day finance operations and ensuring the finance function runs smoothly
- Maintaining positive cash flow, managing supplier payments and debtor management
- Leading the month-end process, including accruals, prepayments, fixed asset accounting, and payroll oversight
- Producing monthly P&L, balance sheet, WIP, and stock reports within five working days
- Ensuring VAT and statutory payment deadlines are met
- Delivering management reporting and liaising with the MD and German parent company
- Adding value by introducing stronger reporting, bringing management accounts in-house, and providing commercial insight as the business grows
- Supporting and developing a small finance team, with potential for future line management
What you will need:
- Previous experience in a similar role, such as Finance Manager, Financial Controller, or Senior Accountant, ideally within an SME environment
- A hands-on, reliable, and proactive approach, with a long-term mindset and stable employment history
- Experience supporting growing businesses and managing bank payments and cash management
- Qualified accountant (or part-qualified), or strong QBE with relevant SME finance management experience
- Comfortable using Sage 50 and confident with basic to intermediate Excel
