This role is offered on a temporary basis for around 6 months. Reporting to the Head of Audit, you will be responsible for:
- Delivering the audit service to the organisation and external clients
- Building strong relationships with officers and members at all levels to understand strategic direction and key risks
- Advising on effective risk management and internal control frameworks
- Leading original research on new auditing techniques, especially in data analysis
- Providing objective, unbiased assurance and promoting best practice
- Supporting change and continuous improvement across the organisation
What you will need:
- Professional accounting or auditing qualification and membership
- Previous experience in similar roles such as Principal Auditor / Senior Auditor / Internal Auditor / Audit Manager
- Demonstrable knowledge of Public Sector Internal Audit Standards (PSIAS)
- Strong understanding of corporate governance, risk management, and internal control environments
- Excellent planning, organisation, and time management skills
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex legislation
